Doing Devotions
Creating A Habit of Bible Reading & Prayer
Mark 1:35 In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and
went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.
Luke 4:42 At daybreak he departed and went into a deserted place.
Luke 5:16 But he would withdraw to deserted places and pray.
Mark 6:31 He said to them, "Come away to a deserted place all by
yourselves and rest a while."
Do It!
-
Where to pray: A quiet and private place. The same place.
-
When to pray: In the morning. Throughout the day. In the evening.
-
Use the Bible during your prayer time: Not Bible study, but meditation
on the words of the Bible. Chew slowly.
Keep Doing It!
Whether you feel like it or not! Do not depend on your feelings, but on
the Lord! Same time, same place, every day, and you have the beginnings
of a habit.
Keep it fresh!
Worship. Pray in the Spirit. Depend on God working in you. "My grace
is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." So, I will
boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ
may dwell in me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
