The Problem: Dealing with those things that come between us.
The Solution: In Christ we can deal, because Christ has already dealt with these things! In Christ, the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us...has broken down! (Ephesians 2:13-14) Christ has the victory: Forgiveness and Cleansing.
If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
The Spiritual Battle: Will we believe in Christ or the things that come between us.
The Devil's main job is to tempt and seduce. The devil comes to rob us of faith, hope & love. Being renewed daily by the Word and Spirit of God, we turn from the temptations of the Evil One and embrace the victory that is ours in Christ Jesus. No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Acknowledge that the battle is spiritual. For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12) Your real battle is not that other person! Your real battle is against spiritual forces that would keep you from walking in the victory Christ has obtained for you! Whatever has come between you and the other person can be dealt with through Christ's victory!
When the stuff that comes between you and another person causes breakdown in your relationship, what have you been focusing on? Christ or the Stuff?
