Worthship = Giving the worth that is due. Giving God what God is worthy of.

God is worthy of our praise.

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created. (Revelation 4:11 / NRSV)

Worship is the basis of the Christian life. Worship is the foundation upon which we are built up as Christians. From worship flows our knowledge and experience of God. From worship flows our knowledge of God's will and the power to do it.

There are obstacles to worship.

True worship is a work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, connecting us up with God our creator and redeemer - in the way that is truly appropriate: With praise and adoration and surrender.

For Reflection & Sharing:

  1. Describe what happens to us when we are truly worshiping God?

  2. How can worship be a daily part of our lives?

  3. How does worship through the week affect our worship on Sundays?

  4. How has worshiping God made you able to recognize God's will?

  5. Jesus, your lead a life of true worship. Lead us into worship.
